What are the rules for The Neon Museum in Las Vegas? ›

Guest assumes all risk of injury. We recommend visitors wear closed-toe shoes and museum-appropriate attire. Going over the stanchions/rock border or touching the signs/collection is strictly prohibited. Absolutely no alcohol, drugs, weapons smoking of tobacco, or electronic cigarettes/vapes.

I would highly recommend anyone to make a visit here at least once, especially if you understand the history of Vegas. We went at what I believe is the best time to visit, at sunset. The neon signs shine best once it starts getting dark and it is no longer hot outside anymore which makes it tolerable to explore.

Founded in 1996, The Neon Museum is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization dedicated to collecting, preserving, studying and exhibiting iconic Las Vegas signs for educational, historic, arts and cultural enrichment.

The Museum does not allow personal images to promote a product, service, business, artist or individual. Commercial photography options are available; however, reservations are required and must be approved by the Museum and booked in advance. Add on equipment such as: ring lights, tripods, monopods, flashes, etc.

The Neon Boneyard is the largest space and holds our primary museum collection. This space contains more than 200 unrestored signs and numerous restored signs which are on all the time. Pieces range from the 1930s to the present day. Prices range from $10 to $20.

How many signs are in the Neon Museum collection? The easiest way to approach this question from a Collections standpoint is to note that there are 800 sign pieces in the collection from around 200 Las Vegas properties.

The Neon Museum campus includes the outdoor exhibition space known as the Neon Boneyard Main Collection, the Neon Boneyard North Gallery, which houses additional rescued signs, and a Visitors' Center housed inside the former La Concha Motel lobby.

If you are used to walking in any city then absolutely you can walk from Fremont to the Neon Museum. We had no problem at all, though one of our country cousins was scared by a 7-11 and another person in our group has knee issues, so we Uber'd back after our evening tour. Easy either way.

The Neon Museum Las Vegas / Tickets

The best time of day to visit is most likely sunset or evening when the signs are on full, illuminated display. Visitors are advised to purchase their tickets in advance, particularly if they want to view a specific part of the museum, such as Brilliant!, or take a guided tour through the Neon Boneyard.

A Guided Tour is a 45-minute guided, group tour of the Main Boneyard. These tours happen at night and feature the fabulous neon of our restored signs, and our beautifully and dramatically lit un-restored signs.

Brilliant! Jackpot is a 45-minute that redefines the way we explore the history of Las Vegas. This magical experience, created by noted artist Craig Winslow, transports visitors into the history of Las Vegas through sight and sound.

Centerplate Catering holds the exclusive contract for food and beverage at the Las Vegas Convention Center. NO OUTSIDE FOOD & BEVERAGE IS PERMITTED. This includes bottled water and displays of candy. Centerplate reserves the right to assess a corkage fee for exceptions to our policies.

Children 5 years or older can attend and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian 18 years or older to attend. The use of cameras, video equipment or flash photography is not allowed during the performance.
